Our main author, Panos Vasilopoulos is an experienced and dependable manager, executive, and aircraft engineer with over 30 years of expertise spanning both military and civil aviation sectors. His progressive career trajectory has seen him take on diverse roles from technical operations to middle and senior management positions, establishing him as a leader in the field.

With deep subject-matter expertise, Panos excels in implementing and overseeing Airworthiness, Training, Compliance, and Safety Management Systems. His skill set is further enhanced by his proficiency in navigating aviation regulations within both European (EASA) and UAE (GCAA) frameworks, ensuring compliance with international and national aviation standards.

Panos brings a wealth of knowledge not only in technical operations and management but also in web development and software integration with hardware and embedded systems. He has developed custom solutions for automation and IoT applications, as well as specialized platforms and tools for aircraft maintenance tracking and training management.

Holding a Military Academy degree in Electronics and Automations and an MSc in Aircraft Maintenance Management awarded from City, University of London, he is currently pursuing his BSc in Laws (Honours) (LLB) with the Open University. He is a Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society (MRAeS) and has been registered with the UK Engineering Council as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng).

A retired Naval Officer of the Hellenic Navy, Panos has also served as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of South Wales (Dubai Campus). His leadership capabilities are well-documented through roles such as Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Executive Committee Member, Post Holder of Training and Examinations, and Training Manager.

Currently, Panos is the RW Maintenance Manager at Falcon Aviation Services LLC in the UAE. In this role, he oversees Rotary-Wing Base and Line Maintenance, Production Planning, and Workshops for the GCAA CAR145 Approved Maintenance Organization, contributing to maintaining high standards in aviation services provided to Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), VVIPs, and other contracted parties.
